Un Pinocchio de moins !
“The most beautiful of all our myths is neither Faust, nor Don Juan, but the myth of Pinocchio. Each of us is an inside-out Pinocchio : we are made of wood and have to break free from ourselves – break free from ourselves and turn back into masks.” Valère Novarina
Pinocchio is the third myth that Dramaticules has staged. The different themes are timeless and universal. In this first adaptation of the novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, Jérémie Le Louët and his team divide up the text into movements and successive waves, whilst taking care not to « explain » the text, and its “generality”. The deeply contrasted sequences accumulate, collide, and answer each other, thereby creating constantly changing dynamic intensities.
This show is the first incursion by Dramaticules into The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. These adventures continue in 2015 with the staged-reading of Pinocchio, followed by the full-scale production of Pinocchio in 2020.
