Thomas Chrétien
After graduating with a DMA diploma in Lighting at Nantes in 2003, he began working as a Lighting Technician/Operator in various theatres in and around Paris (La Colline, l’Odéon, Théâtre 13, Athénée Théâtre Louis Jouvet, Théâtre Firmin Gémier, in Antony). From 2005 to 2007, he was the in-house Lighting Operator at Théâtre 13, in Paris, where he light shows for numerous companies. In 2006, he became a member of Dramaticules and was responsible for lighting and sound on Macbett, Hot House, Un Pinocchio de moins !, Le Horla and Salomé. He was Lighting Designer/Operator on Richard III, by William Shakespeare (2012/13), Affreux, bêtes et pédants (2013/14), Ubu Roi by Dramaticules (2014/15), Don Quichotte (2015/16), Hamlet (2018/19) and Pinocchio (2020/21).
From 2010 onwards, he became General Stage Manager for Compagnie de la Jeunesse Aimable for the creation and tours of Peau d’Âne, based on the work of Charles Perrault (2010) and Falstaff, by Valère Novarina (2014), both of which were directed by Lazare Herson-Macarel. This lead to his acquaintance with the Nouveau Théâtre Populaire troupe, which he joined in 2014 as Lighting Designer and Technical Director.
